Items Needed:

One 1.55oz Hershey's Candy Bar

Scissors, foil, glue/tape

The most important thing to remember is...

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER take the original wrapper off the candy bar.  That is a HUGE no-no!!!

Ok - say the above 5 times and promise you will NEVER remove the original wrapper unless you are going to eat it yourself.  Alright, let's move on!

Step 1:  Have your supplies ready so when you finish printing, you can begin.  Since this is a basic tutorial, I'm starting you off with the bare essentials.  If you have a steady hand, scissors are great but for me, I prefer using a ruler and straight edge blade as I want my edges to be as perfect as perfect can be.  You will have to decide which one is the best for you.  You can use any type of adhesive (glue, tape, etc).  I like using the double-sided adhesive roller   It saves me time and at the end of my project, my fingers are sticky free!

Step 2:  Take the candy wrapper template that you just printed out and cut around the edges of the template.  When finished, set the template aside and discard the paper trimmings.

Step 3:  We'll go back to the template in a minute.  For now though, it's time to put the foil around your candy bar.  It doesn't matter if the candy bar is 'right side up' or 'right side down' - I like to position the bar as you see in the photo as the edges of the original wrapper 'bends' naturally with the foil.  Center your candy bar on the foil and fold the two edges snugly toward each other.

Step 4:  Next you will take the bottom of the foil and fold it toward the center, also making sure it's a 'snug' fit.

Step 5:  Then, take the upper part of the foil and fold it toward the center, also making sure it's a 'snug' fit.

Step 6:  At this point, your candy bar should be completely covered in foil - and a snug fit.  Pick your candy wrapper template up and lay it on top of your foil-covered candy bar, aligning the front of the wrapper both vertically and horizonitally so everything will not only look centered, it will BE CENTERED!

Step 7:  Holding the template and candy bar together, flip it over.  If the wrapper shifts a little, don't worry.  You can center it again before taping it down.  But for now, it's time to 'overwrap' your candy bar!

Step 8:  I like to begin by folding the shorter edge toward the center first as illustrated in the photo above.

Step 9:  Next, you will fold the longer side of the wrapper toward the middle.  Just as the photo shows, it should be long enough to lap over the shorter side.  To get a great fit, you will have to fold 'snugly' as you did in the foil process.  Remember how I said you could center the front of the wrapper again?  Before taping your wrapper down, just hold everything firmly and take a peek to make sure all is centered on the front of the wrapper.  If it's not, center it and then go back to step 8.

Step 10:  At this point you probably feel as though you need a few more fingers but trust me on this one - 10 fingers does the job nicely!  Ok, you are almost finished and I know you must be so excited!  With your tape (or glue if you prefer using it), go along the edge of the wrapper (the long side) and apply the adhesive.

Step 11:  Press along the edge to seal it.

Step 12:  Take a deep breath!  You are finished and what a wonderful job you done!  Give yourself a pat on the back!  I'm proud of you!

Now that you've learn just how easy wrapping a candy bar is, dazzle your family and friends with personalized candy bars.  Before you know it, they will be asking you to make personalized gifts and favors for their friends and family. You don't have to limit yourself to wrapping the regular size candy bar.  Now that you've learned how to 'overwrap', you will be able to wrap everything else too! Also, you might want to keep it at the 'fun' level but if you ever think about turning the 'fun' into 'profit', we are here to help you with that also by offering some of the most unique and 'one of a kind' designs you won't find anywhere else.

Have fun with your new skill!

Happy Wrapping!
